Some considerations when choosing a driving
instructor -
Make sure they approved by the Department of Transport Driving Standards
Agency (DSA instructors).
Instructors who are approved, must display their certificate
(badge) on the windscreen of the car.

Pick someone who has a good reputation. (ask
relatives & friends).
Take advise from your driving instructor on all aspects of driving, what books to read,
and when you will be ready for your driving test.
How many lessons you need will vary for each person.
Safe driving is a skill for life!
Your instructor is paid to teach, but you must be willing to learn, put in plenty of practice, and spend time studying the theory.
A good instructor wont send you for a test, unless they think you are ready. (capable
of passing a test, and a safe driver).
Quality tuition is money well spent!
Professional driving instructors in the UK have to be registered with the Driving Standards Agency. To register, a three part examination has to be passed as well as periodic `Check Tests' of instructional ability where a Grade is awarded.
The original Register of Approved Driving Instructors was established in
October 1964. Registration became compulsory for professional driving instructors in 1970.
Since April 1990, the ADI Register has been maintained by the Driving Standards Agency. Be wary of
unlicensed, untrained people who are not subject to the checks and controls passed by
licensed instructors.
